“What are the best smelling essential oils?” someone asked me. I smiled a little, as I worked to come up with an answer. I mean, how do you really answer that? It really comes down to personal preference, so it’s a hard one! But in the end, I decided that since it was my opinion that asked, then my opinion counted! So here are the best smelling essential oils – in my opinion!
Northern Lights Black Spruce
When I first got Northern Lights Black Spruce, it came as a promotion. I had known about it for a while and wasn’t enthused. Then I got it. I looked at it, shrugged, and stuck it in my cupboard. For a while. And then I eventually decided I should smell it. Holy moly. I’m not sure why I wasted all that time. It smells like walking through a Christmas tree farm and is absolutely AMAZING. Totally love it. I especially love it when combined with Christmas Spirit. In my opinion it makes the absolute best Christmas smell. I diffuse this combination the whole holiday season (and sometimes when it’s not the holiday season, too).
Rose is definitely one of my favorite scents all time – be it for an essential oil or just walking through a garden. It is also one of the most expensive essential oils, but it’s worth it. It’s great to include in perfumes, and a couple drops mixed in with coconut oil and rubbed on your wrists goes a very long way. It is light, sweet, and wonderful.
Gentle Baby is a Young Living blend that is specifically designed to calm babies and children. Not only does it work amazingly well for this purpose (it works on adults too!) but it smells divine. A combination of Geranium, Lavender, Rose, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, a few citrus oils and more, you cannot go wrong with the smell of this blend. It’s definitely one of the best smelling essential oils in my opinion!
Peace and Calming II
Peace and Calming II is the oil I most often go for when I’m feeling stressed, tired, and uptight. A blend of citrus oils, Patchouli, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Vetiver, and Cassia, Peace and Calming II is definitely one of my all time favorite essential oil smells. It smells fresh, yet also calm and creates an all around peaceful mood for the house. (I guess that’s probably why they call it peace and calming. Ahem.)
Bergamot is a citrus scent similar to orange. But so much more complex and delicious. I love to combine Bergamot with several oils, including Lavender, Orange, Frankincense, and Vetiver. It’s uplifting scent definitely lands itself in my book of best smelling essential oils!
