Cedarwood Essential Oil was an oil that I honestly didn’t expect to like. So when it began to make its way into our normal routine, I was a bit surprised. But it’s become one of my go-to oils that I use on a normal basis. Bonus – it seems to be a favorite scent for many in our family!
Making Cedarwood Essential Oil
Cedarwood essential oil is steam distilled from the bark of the Cedrus atlantica tree. This type of cedarwood tree is found in Morocco and closely related to the Cedrus lebani tree which are the cedars of Lebanon described in Scripture.
Using Cedarwood Essential Oil
Cedarwood can be used in so many ways. My main way for using it is within one of my favorite sleepytime diffuser blends. I discussed my favorite sleeping blends earlier, but to recap one of my blends is to combine Lavender, Cedarwood, and Copaiba. It smells amazing and works fantastic.
Cedarwood is an excellent oil for focus support and sleep support. Pour a few drops of this oil into your hair products as it promotes healthy, growing hair. Use it in your homemade bug sprays to repel bugs with Lemongrass, while also freshening up the air around you. Or use it to boost your healthy metabolism and promote healthy skin.
Mix Cedarwood and Lavender together in a cup or two of baking soda. Then take the mixture and sprinkle it liberally on your carpet. Let it sit for a few hours (or overnight), then vacuum it up! It is the perfect carpet freshener. Or mix Cedarwood and Lavender or Frankincense (or both!) in a spray bottle with water and spritz your bed before going to bed for a refreshing sleep support blend.
Cedarwood is another oil that is wonderful to add for the guys in your life. It blends well with Shutran, Sacred Mountain, Cypress, and Northern Lights Black Spruce.
If I had to recommend an essential oil outside of the Premium Starter Kit that wasn’t a blend, Cedarwood Essential Oil would definitely make the list!
Products Containing Cedarwood Essential Oil
