Stress Away Essential Oil has long been one of my most used blends. A blend unique to Young Living, it is one of those oils I simply don’t run out of. I’m a homeschool, work at home Mom and we are often running to therapy appointments or skating lessons. While we do our best to make our life enjoyable and more or less “slow living” so that we can truly enjoy time together as a family, there is still a good deal of busyness going on that can often translate into stress. This miracle blend of oils is the perfect thing to have on hand (or hidden in your purse!) for those busy or stressful moments.
Making Stress Away Essential Oil
Stress Away is a blend of several calming oils. None of the oils in and of themselves are unique to Young Living, but the particular blend is. Some of my favorite oils make up Stress Away: Cedarwood, Copaiba, Lavender, Lime, Ocotea, and Vanilla. All of these oils are very good for relieving tension and promoting mental health and tranquility (p. 138-139).
Using Stress Away Essential Oil
The two main ways to use Stress Away are aromatically and topically. Topically I love to apply this oil to my wrists and the back of my neck. It helps relieve tension within my body almost immediately and it smells amazing. I generously used this oil during our time of earthquake recovery.
It is important to note that since Stress Away Essential Oil blend contains Lime (a citrus oil) this oil can be photosensitive, which means it can react with the sun causing burns. Therefore, you must not apply this on your skin before sun exposure. This is especially true for applying to your neck as your neck is often exposed to the sun. If you still want to use Stress Away but are going to be in the sun, apply it somewhere where the sun will not react with the oil.
Another way to use this oil is aromatically. In this case you would mix 5-6 drops of Stress Away with water and place in your diffuser. Your house will be filled with the cheerful yet calming scent of Stress Away and everyone – young and old alike! – will reap the amazing benefits of this delicious smelling oil.
